Home Composting Workshop

Join this free composting workshops and learn more about how composting works, how you can compost your food waste at home to create nutrient-dense fertiliser, and how you are improving sustainability by doing so.

Food waste comprises nearly half of the rubbish in an average household rubbish bin and that up to (and over) 40% of landfills across Australia consist of pure food waste. Once in landfill, food waste undergoes anaerobic decomposition (because of the lack of oxygen) and generates methane. When released into the atmosphere, methane is 25 times more potent a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.
