The recent Netflix documentary ‘Seaspiracy’ has brought the negative impacts of the global fishing industry to broad public attention. However, fisheries scientists have questioned the accuracy of the film and its attacks on NGOs which are working to improve global fishery sustainability. Dr David Agnew, now with the Commission for Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources and previously Science Director of the Marine Stewardship Council, will explore the issue of fisheries sustainability, and whether boycotting fish is the best thing to do to save the oceans.
