Managing your soils to promote greater earthworm activity could improve productivity and farm sustainability.
A healthy population of earthworms can ‘turn over’ and fertilise tonnes of soil per hectare per week. Earthworms can improve soil structure and function to stimulate root and plant growth. They can reduce the costs of tillage and soil fertility management.
