Citizen Science in the Age of Extinction

Have you ever wondered how your passion for science, wildlife, and trudging through the bush can help save patches of forest? Are you a data expert, have GIS skills, or a knack for report writing? Do you want to get outside, learn more about our local ecology and wildlife, and make friends with other nature lovers from across our island?

Join The Wilderness Society on Tuesday the 20th of August at Wild Island in Salalmanca as they gear up for a spring and summer season of citizen science in Tasmania’s forests. This night will be an introduction to our plans to survey forests across the island and how you can be a part of it. All are welcomed to attend and you are encouraged to bring any like-minded friends!

Forestry Watch is a volunteer driven program that brings together science, advocacy and community organising in Tassie’s forests as they work to protect vitally important landscapes and wildlife habitat for a healthier and happier future.
