Public Night Sky Viewing Evening

Presented by the Astronomical Society of Tasmania, the Public Night Sky Viewing Evening gives EVERYONE the opportunity to view the wonders of the Tasmanian night sky.
A pretty first quarter Moon will be in the northwest and the magnificent Jupiter will be rising in the east. Many other deep space wonders will be high in the sky to observe and enjoy.
Attendees have the opportunity to view the night sky wonders through a range of telescopes, guided by experienced members of the Society. Throughout the evening, we encourage questions from attendees and we enjoy discussing topics ranging from backyard astronomy to astrophotography.
Our popular stall stocking astronomy books and super warm thermal jackets will be open and a sausage sizzle will help keep the hunger away.
