Australians have a deep connection to the ocean. As an island nation on the blue planet, it is no surprise that there are hundreds of organisations, institutions, communities and individuals invested in using, valuing, managing and governing the ocean. We work and play, explore and enjoy our ocean. Our lives are interconnected with its ubiquitous influence.
The first Stakeholder Briefing is designed to outline the UN Decade of Ocean Science and other global initiatives. It will be an opportunity for some of the Australian Ocean Stakeholder community to provide their thoughts on what success would look like after a decade focused on the Ocean, how we would measure success and what it would take to make it happen.
