Neoromedia: Art & Neuroscience Research

The TCoTA Arts Forum presents
NEUROMEDIA: Art & Neuroscience Research
NEUROMEDIA are innovative examinations of the shared territories in sensory perception between art and neurobiological anatomy and cognition. In this guest lecture, media artist and scholar Jill Scott presents examples from her sixteen-year long research on art and neuroscience. Scott believes that when artists and designers learn about neural behaviour on a molecular, cellular and systems level, they can develop unique cultural metaphors and new processes of art and science production. Is art infused with neuroscience an alternative approach to scientific communication or a chance to invent visual metaphors and poetic analogies that might help others to reflect on their own biological, ecological and ethical futures?
Dr. Jill Scott is lecturer, professor and context provider with many years experience in the unique field of Art and Science research.
