The UTAS Sustainability team is leading the Inveresk Ecological Restoration Project which aims to restore a site larger than 3,000m2! It will be intensively planted and seeded, into a biodiverse site with ecological sustainability at its core. The project will involve planting and direct seeding to recreate six Tasmanian native plant communities which will restore ecological function, provide educational opportunities about biodiversity and engage the community in restoration.
Sessions begin on Sunday 26 July on National Tree Day from 10am-2pm. Following this, our regular Monday restoration planting sessions begin on Monday 27 July and will continue every Monday from 10:30am to 1pm until early September. Activities range from mulching, planting, watering, monitoring biodiversity and managing weeds.
