National Tree Day Event at Taroona Park

Join this great family friendly event, have a fun day out in nature and be part of this National Tree Day!

Along with planting native trees and shrubs, we will have children’s activities, guided walks and displays.

Hot drinks, snacks and a free BBQ are provided.

We will be planting a diverse range of locally native plants, grown in the Council nursery from seeds sourced locally.

The plants will improve the health of the large iconic gum trees in this well-loved area, as well as providing shelter and habitat for birds and animals.

About the planting area:
The site is at Taroona Park, called Apex Park or Nubeena Crescent Park by some, between Taroona and Nubeena Crescent.

Parking is along Nubeena Crescent and nearby streets, or walk up though the bush from Taroona Beach area.

Please leave the Fire station clear so the brigade can respond to an emergency if needed.

What to bring:
Everything you need is provided – just wear good solid shoes and clothes that can get muddy. It is often cold so rug up.

Please keep your dogs on a lead in the event area.

This event will be held in cooperation with Planet Ark and will be supported by the Taroona Environment Network and the Taroona Scout group.
