Envirothon 2013

Calling Tasmanian Year 11-12 science teachers: Do you and your students have what it takes to win a once-in-a-lifetime research trip?
In 2011, the Bookend Trust launched the Tasmanian ENVIROTHON competition. Teams from different schools competed against each other on science topics including wildlife, forest ecology, soils and aquatics.
The winning team and their teacher won a trip to Lord Howe Island to take part in real-time scientific research into seabirds, marine debris and ecological restoration.
In 2013, we’re keen to do it again: new tests, new locations, and a new prize to take part in another interstate research project.
The competition is hard, but you have time and help to prepare, and the experience is a spark for your students into the future.
