Understanding cumulative impacts requires a systems approach across a broad array of scientific disciplines: physics, chemistry, ecology, economics, social sciences and more. All of these disciplines have developed their own first steps down the integrated assessment pathway, but amalgamating across those steps is critical for the next round of advances. This symposium will look at the technical aspects of assessing cumulative impacts (what we do now and what is needed for the future).
