A future techno-garden? Resolving the 21st century’s development-conservation dilemma

Leading Australian environmental scientist Professor Barry Brook will be presenting this seminar.
Professor Brook’s work focuses on global environmental change, and the impact that climate change and global warming are having on traditional risks to natural systems. In recent years, he has become a respected commentator on energy policy, and has conducted considerable research on systems modeling for sustainable energy. He has commented in the media on low-carbon energy alternatives, particularly mixes of renewable and nuclear power, and runs a lively blog at Brave New Climate.  Committed to communicating sound scientific information to decision-makers in governments, the community and industry, he recently co-authored (with Ian Lowe) the book Why vs. Why: nuclear power (Pantera Press).
