The Elliott Field Day provides a valuable opportunity to engage with researchers about research underway to support Tasmania’s dairy industry.
Join TIA for a morning of informative presentations, including:
- Virtual fencing technology, Dr Megan Verdon (TIA)
- Dairy business benchmarking, Symon Jones (TIA)
- Reducing livestock emissions, Associate Professor Richard Rawnsley (TIA)
- Natural capital accounting demo, Hannah Sadler (Cradle Coast NRM)
Following the presentations there is an opportunity for a walk around the research farm, offering the chance to speak with researchers and view the current farmlet trial firsthand. The farmlet trial has an ambitious goal of reducing nitrogen fertiliser use without negatively impacting productivity. Discussions in the paddock will also include multi-species grazing management, soils, and microflora.
The field day will kick off with Bombshell Espresso serving your morning coffee, courtesy of the TAS Farm Innovation Hub. A complimentary lunch is also included and offers you the chance to network with fellow attendees or engage with industry representatives at the trade tables.
For catering purposes, please register by Monday 17 February.
