Today, the finalists for the Australian Museums Eureka prizes have been announced and Tasmanians are in contention for 4 of the 19 prizes – more than ever in the history of the awards!
The Eureka prizes celebrate outstanding achievement in science and science communication. Congratulations to the Tasmanian scientists that have made it through:
- Dr Lila Landowski, Celestino Eureka Prize for Promoting Understanding of Science
- Professor Melissa Hart, University of Technology Sydney Eureka Prize for Outstanding Mentor of Researchers
- TAS Test by the Wicking Dementia Centre, Eureka Prize for Excellence in Interdisciplinary Scientific Research
- CSIRO and BOM including Tasmanian Drs. Alastair Hobday, Xuebin Zhang and Jason Hartog, NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water Eureka Prize for Environmental Research
