Applications for the 2025 Inspiring Women in STEMM fellowship round NOW OPEN
This grant provides funds (up to $2000) for the successful applicant(s) to support STEMM engagement and education for youth in their home community. Fellows will be invited to present at Science in the Pub’s special event for International Women’s day in March 2025 and will be provided with training in communicating with impact and opportunities for engagement and networking throughout 2025.
This year’s grant is possible through the generous contributions from Inspiring Tasmania and the University of Tasmania.
The applications will be due by Fri, Nov 22nd 2024 and will involve writing a short essay that addresses three questions (in <500 words):
- Why are you doing a PhD in your chosen STEMM field? (i.e. ‘show us your passion’)
- What barriers have you faced in undertaking your PhD in STEMM and how have you overcome them? (i.e. ‘show us your perseverance’)
- How would you use these funds to engage with and inspire the next generation of women in STEMM? (i.e. ‘show us your plan’)
You should also include a budget of how you plan to spend the funds. The budget will not be included in the 500 word-limit above.
Applicants must currently be undertaking a PhD by Research in a STEMM field, be based in Tasmania and identify as female.
For any questions, or to submit your application, please contact Emily Flies (Emily.Flies@utas.edu.au). Submissions should include the above application as a single word document and the signed declaration form and use “Inspiring Women in STEMM application’ as the subject line.
