A new boardwalk at Dove Lake in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park has been completed in time for the peak summer season.
The project is part of the $26.8 million investment towards the implementation of the Cradle Mountain Master Plan and delivers on a commitment to provide visitor infrastructure for the long-term sustainable future of this iconic park.
Carefully designed to reduce the impact of infrastructure at the site, the new boardwalk caters well for visitor expectations at one of Tasmania’s premier tourist destinations and ensures the sustainability and resilience of the park. The boardwalk connection from the Dove Lake viewing shelter allows people of all abilities to access the viewing platform and enjoy the values of this extraordinary World Heritage site, with a bench seat the only remaining item to be complete.
