The Cape Bruny Lighthouse now has a new car park and increased accessibility after works recently wrapped up at the site.
The Cape Bruny Lighthouse Car Park and Access Project at South Bruny National Park was delivered by Tasmanian civil construction company, Andrew Walter Constructions and local sub-contractors.
The project was part of the 2021 Parks Powering Regional Economies commitment to plan and construct improved access the Cape Bruny Visitor Site. The Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service section of Lighthouse Road has also been upgraded as part of the works.
Visitors to the Cape Bruny Lighthouse now have improved access to the historic site’s museum and amenities via a new car park and an all-abilities walkway. The new car park has more parking spaces, including disability parking as well as motorcycle and coach provisions.
Additionally, the new car park features improvements to allow for better traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
