Inspiring Tasmania February Update

This month, Inspiring Tasmania welcomed Jenni Klaus as manager and said farewell to Sarah Bayne who has taken a position with the Central Coast Council to deliver their new science centre as part of The Hive community hub.

Sarah’s extensive work with Inspiring Australia over the last nine years has seen the program thrive. She developed the Festival of Bright Ideas and many other programs as part of her legacy with Inspiring Australia. Sarah will remain part of the science communication network in Tasmania, contributing her years of knowledge and success to STEM outcomes for the state.

Events in March

This March Science in the Pub returns with the Inspiring Women in STEMM 2020 winners and the Royal Society is having their first public lecture for the year discussing the importance of scientists communicating effectively.


Festival of Bright Ideas date revealed!

The Festival of Bright Ideas (FOBI) will be going ahead in 2021! The public date is Saturday 21 August when Hobart’s PW1 will turn into a circus of creativity and discovery. We’ll keep you updated so you know when tickets open.

The popular schools day will also be going ahead on Friday 20 August and school expressions of interest will open later in the year.
